The oral history interviews in this collection were conducted by former Seattle Pacific University president C. Dorr Demaray as part of the research done for a history of Seattle Pacific. Calvin Dorr Demaray was born in Michigan in 1901. He received his B.A. and M.A. from the University of Michigan and a Litt D. from Seattle Pacific College in 1945. Established in 1890 with nine members, the Board of Trustees is the governing body for Seattle Pacific University (formerly Seattle Seminary and Seattle Pacific College). Originally, all nine members were elected by the Washington Conference of the Free Methodist Church. By 1950, the Board had the authority to elect up to eight members.
